Sean Wager

“We’ve got a hell of a reputation”

Sean expects the highest quality of work from his team

Sean Wager joined UKPS with no experience in the electrical connections industry. His determination to succeed and his eye for detail have seen him become our Craft Supervisor for the West. He worked hard through his initial training and development with us and has his sights set on growing the business as well as himself.

A lot to give

Sean’s dedication and commitment to developing the skills in his role have lead to him becoming an expert in LV and HV jointing. When he is not out on site and managing his six jointing teams across the country, Sean can often be found at our training facility helping teach the new jointers coming through:

“When I’m in the office I get involved with the training which I like to be a part of. I know I’ve not been in my role for a long time but I feel I have a lot to offer the guys learning the trade. We have some very talented jointers in the company.”

Solving problems

The industry has a flexible and innovative culture with each project presenting new challenges to our teams at UKPS, from design to installation. We like to tackle these problems as a team and feel we have personnel that relish these challenges when they arise. Sean is certainly one of these people:

“I like to help everyone. If someone has an issue I enjoy finding a way around it. I think that follows on from my interest in training, passing my knowledge on to the new starters or less experienced colleagues. They all listen and are eager to learn which is great.”

Keeping up standards

UKPS have become the premier independent connections company in the UK. We put the onus on recruiting people who share our values of customer satisfaction, effective communication and a complete service of the highest quality. Sean clearly has pride in his and his team’s work and he doesn’t see that changing in the future as the company continues to grow:

“We’ve got a hell of a reputation. Everyone who works with us rates us highly so we’ve just got to keep those standards up.

“Our standard of work is by far the best in the industry. It is drilled into you as soon as you join UKPS. It flows across the company, from the Directors to the teams on site. It’s easier to complete projects to the highest level of quality if that’s what you are taught from the start.”
